For The truly Connected Canine
I hate going out and leaving Princess alone, but sometimes it just has to be done. Luckly she has bodyguards on watch. So we were so excited when we found out about this new technology that allows you to talk to your furbaby any time you want. Its called the PetsCell cell phone by PetsMobility. Its the first ever cell phone for pets that attaches to your pet's collar and automatically answers when someone calls your pet's own phone number. I tried teaching Princess how to pick up the phone but she just won't. I'm guessing most royal dogs would prefer their own receptionist. As normally that's impossible, this is the next best thing. And in the case that you are together and forgot to charge your own cell phone, you can call for help from your dog's cell if..Say..You are caught in yarn and there's a cat approaching or if you are in big time trouble, like if you are trying on an outfit that's too small and you can't get it off over your breasts and you're starting to panic. Not that it has ever happened to me *cough*. Also, if your pet ever decides to pull a diva act and run away, there's a button on the PetCell that someone can press and this will call your phone number. And in the case of an evil person finding your pet and deciding to keep it, the PetCell will also be available with an optional GPS tracking device and a camera for search and rescue that will send photos to your computer of where your dog is at the moment. This also comes in handy when your dog decides to go clubbing without you, so you can make sure your little one is only talking to other equally royal pets. So check it out, this cell phone is hot for the pet who has everything.

Tabloid Needs To Get A "Simple Life" when It Comes To Knowing Simple Facts
As few facts as a tabloid magazine offers, you'd think they could get a couple of them straight. A certain popular tabloid magazine recently featured a picture of Paris Hilton with this caption underneath: Paris and Tinker-bee! Paris and her "daughter", a bee-attired Tinkerbell, went shopping in L.A. on May 7 for Mother's Day presents. That would've been fine..if in fact they didn't mix up the dogs again. The picture is actually of Paris with Bambi, her newer chu-chu that looks nothing like Tink at all. And this isn't their first offense. They have not only refered to Paris' pomeranians as Tinkerbell before, but also her pug. How could they mix up a chihuahua with a totally different breed of dog? This doesn't only happen with Paris, but also her former Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie. After she bought her Pomeranian, Foxy Cleopatra, it took this same magazine maybe 5 months before they realized Foxy was in deed NOT her shiht-zu Honey Child. It makes you wonder what exactly their editors do, besides stalking.
A Kiss From A Rose On A Grave..
Born: September 6, 1987 Died: June 23, 2005 Rose Red AKA Rosa was set free from her cancer, about two months before her 18th birthday. She was a Pit Bull X Chow mix who was the love of my life ever since I rescued her about two years ago. I will love her always and she will never be forgotten. She will be forever missed. R.I.P.
The World's Ugliest Dog Has Passed Away
Sam was a pure bred Chinese Crested dog who has won both the World's Ugliest Dog contest (three years in a row) but also the hearts of all who known him. Sam was rescued by owner Susie, who was able to look past his strange appearance and see the sweet soul within. He has since become famous for his odd looks and has been featured on television (including The Carson Daly Show and The Criss Angel Mindfreak Halloween Special). Sam was almost 15 years old when his owner had to make the hardest, but most unselfish, decision a dog owner will ever have to make (due to Sam's heart failure). Sam passed away on Friday, November 18th 2005. Rest In Peace and keep an eye on Rosa for me, Sam. For more infomation on Sam and pictures, please visit http://www.samugliestdog.com/

Basic Animal Instinct
The death of the family cat by their neighbor's dog spawns a feud older than time. Predator kills prey.. prey's family is upset that they are not higher on the food chain and seeks revenge that they can never get. This such thing happened to the Christian family, after they approached an object in their front yard that appeared to be a garbage bag. "I got closer and realized it was our cat Cody", says Eric Christian (man of the household), "He had cuts and one paw was broken. My heart sank". Marilyn Christian, his wife, mourned the cat's body for hours. Most people stop there, but not the Christian's. Inspired by their favorite show, C.S.I. (a show which is based on crime cases that are solved using forensic science), the Christian family went to great (and somewhat strange) lengths of finding the culprit. What they ended up doing was launching an investigation using forensic analysis of the hair found in Cody the cat's mouth. Their main suspect.. their new neighbor's dog Lucky (a four year old German Shepherd mix). The Christian's allowed their cats to roam the five acres of property surrounding their house, property which Lucky has been known to enter. "We thought it was a neighbor bringing a housewarming present, but then Marilyn grabbed the dog and put some hair in her pocket", said Sean Daryabeygis (the owner of Lucky). The Christian family then spent $500 to have Lucky's hair DNA tested against the hair found in Cody the cat's mouth. When tests came back positive that Lucky was the culprit, the Christian's petitioned the county to have Lucky declared a dangerous dog. Luckily for Lucky, the officials were not convinced. "There are no witnesses, there is no evidence to move on a dangerous dog order", says county animal control director Thomas Koenig. Lucky's owners were not surprised, "We feel sympathy for them, but thousands of dogs chase cats. It's the nature of the beast". Even dog behaviorist David Reinecker agrees,"Even sweet dogs will kill a cat, specially if it invades their territory". Although Lucky's parents have spent $1,000 on a new dog fence, the Christian's are not yet satisfied. "Once a dog kills a cat, they have a taste for blood. Most likely they will do that again. I want the county to have a dangerous dog trial so the dog will be muzzled when it's off property. I will pursue this even without the support of the county". The Christian's who are also afraid for the safety of their one year old son continue, "Cody would look out for us. He'd go kill a mouse and bring it back".
Royal Thoughts: I think this is insane. I feel sorry for the lose of their cat, but you can't expect a dog (or owner) to be held accountable for killing a creature when both are left unsupervised outside. As a lifelong owner of several cats over the years, I can almost guarantee that Cody had in fact entered Lucky's domain. That may have been the reason for Lucky's constant escape onto the cat property. All of my cat's were mainly outdoor living and let me tell you.. there is no way to stop a cat from straying into a dog's yard unless you keep them inside. If these cat owners really cared about the safety of their cats, they would have simply not let them out ever. All of my neighboring properties are dog domains, so I understood that if one of those dogs had killed my cat it would actually be my fault for letting my cats live outside. Dogs are animals, not to mention they generally hate cats. So they will chase, and if caught they will kill. I don't understand why they can consider this dog a dangerous dog, that term is given to dogs which had attacked, or attempted to attack, a human. The dog tasted blood, so now he's a danger to their son? I think pet owners who feed their dogs on the very healthy and popular raw diet will disagree. Also, unless they plan on having their one year old son run around the neighborhood unsupervised like their cats, I doubt they will have any trouble. You know how feisty kids can be these days. And I don't think their muzzle idea would work anyway, Lucky escaped from his yard into their yard. How would muzzling him while off his property help? I love the little part at the end about how cute it was for their cat to bring home dead mice. Now wouldn't that make the cat a dangerous cat? I wonder if the mouse family had done a DNA test. Maybe the cats should be muzzled, so they won't get a taste for blood and start attacking children. The mice should petition with the county to declare her cats to be dangerous. Hey, what's good for the goose..

Scheduled Apperances and Events
Princess Tiffany was featured in the December 2005 issue of WestChester Wag magazine as one of three winners for the title Best Dressed 2005. The winners were chosen from thousands of cats and dogs, and of course The Princess of Couture would win. Surprised? Didn't think so..
Here is The Article on Princess Tiffany Featured in The Magazine:

"Princess Tiffany is a major clothes horse! The two-year-old Pomeranian, dubbed "The Princess of Couture", is actually a fashion reviewer for upscale pet clothing. It's a dog's life because her closet is bursting to the point of "needs more space". Sound familiar, ladies? Her favorite outfit is a burgundy ballgown with black belt, bow, and rhinestones and she loves her PuppyPurses and pearls and carries it all in her designer luggage. She was depressed after her best friend Rosa the Pit Bull passed on in June, but a little retail therapy got Tiff out of her funk. Princess Tiffany co-owns the online website www.PrincessCoutureLtd.com with owner Cher who swears that any shopping bag that comes into the house will be immediately rifled through by Princess, who always chooses her own outfits!"
2005 Pet Adoption Fair & Expo WestChester County Center, White Plains NY September 24th, 2005
The Pet Adoption Fair Mission:
"Within a seven year period one female dog and her offspring can produce 76,000 puppies and one female cat and her offspring can produce 480,000 kittens. These statistics are outragageous, and makes what we hope to do here today desperately important. Each year in the United States 4-6 million homeless animals are euthanized. Each of those animals are just as wonderful as the animals you see here today. At the Westchester Pet Adoption Fair and Expo, we hope to not only find loving and caring homes for each animal here today, but we also hope to make the Westchester community aware of the thousands of animals that are out there that need you. Only together can we spread the word and begin the fight against this ever-growing problem- overpopulation. Be a responsible pet guardian by spaying or neutering your pet and encouraging others to do the same- today is a great start."

Pet rescue is something that's quite close to my heart, especially Pit Bull rescue, so I had to attend this event. All proceeds went to help the above rescues, which is quite rare for every vendor attending to donate their profits. I apoligize for not having many pictures from this event, but my camera was acting up big time. This event took place at The Westchester County Center, which is home to events for everything from boxing to home shows to WWE to reptile shows. It was a steal at $5 entrance fee. They gave away freebies such as issues of New York Dog Magazine and ModernDog Magazine (which each retail for $5 each), coupons for money off pet stores, bags and bags of free samples of high quality pet food, plus there was a table full of free stuff like frisbees and clickers (which I am now using to finally shut the bitch up on our walks). Entrance fee: $5..Clicker: Free..Silence from a Pomeranian: Priceless. I had quite a few highlights of the day. The first was meeting the crew from New York Dog Magazine, the hipest dog magazine around. I also met our friend Rick Arruzza, author of the Sparky's Adventures series. These books star the beautiful Sparky, a pitbull/pointer mix. She was rescued by Adopt-A-Dog from a death sentence in a New York City pound. She has since made her way into the heart and home of Rick and now lives in Stamford, CT. You can read more about her story and the series at their website www.SparkysWalk.com. I met a new friend, Heather from The Pink Hot Dog. The Pink Hot Dog is an upscale pet website and they sell some of the cutest things ever. I have been a fan of her website for about a year now so it was great finally meeting her and her two doggies. She's just an awesome person, I was expecting some tension because I am literally her competition and usually when other pet boutique owners find out who I am they put up a wall to block me out. But there was no tension what so ever, she treated me like I treat others in my business.. like a friend. I am the type of person that walks into my competition's store and buys something. LOL. Though that doesn't make very much business sense, I support small boutique owners and would purchase from them rather than large chain stores or warehouses. I also wish my competition success in their business, not many people would understand that but I guess that's what makes me unique. Princess Couture Ltd. and The Pink Hot Dog.. watch out for possible collaborations in the future. In the meantime, check out her website: www.PinkHotDog.com. I also met the cutest baby squirrels! LOL! No, they weren't for adoption. Of course I can't forget about some of the dogs I met at the Pet Adoption League booth, they were pit mixes. As you already know, Pit bulls (Staffies) and their mixes touch my heart in a way you wouldn't understand unless you met one. I find that most people who are afraid of Pits have never actually met one, they are the biggest clown of a breed ever. I swear the most dangerous part of their body is their tail.. I call it the Tail O' Death.. the minute it starts wagging watch out! I fall victim everytime. I think the reason why I like them is because they're the most trustworthy of any dog breed, they very rarely (if ever) bite anyone. Of course you have to be careful with them around other dogs, but big deal. You shouldn't trust any dog around another dog or child unsupervised. That, plus keeping your dog leashed when outside the house and spaying or neutering.. that's called responsible ownership. I was very pleased to find out that almost all of the dogs at that event were adopted by the end of the day, but there are so many more dogs and cats at the shelters that are waiting for a home. It's almost pointless to actually buy a dog from a breeder right now unless you're showing your dog. If you're not showing your dog, just breeding them, then you are a backyard breeder and are doing your part in the deaths of all these animals every year. Mixed breed dogs make great pets, they actually tend to be healthier than their pure bred counterparts. If you are insisting on a purebred dog, it's very possible to find the dog of your dreams in a shelter or especially a breed rescue. Save your money and save a life.. visit www.PetFinder.org So, I am definately looking forward to next year's expo. I was beyond pleased with everything and it was so much fun. I look forward to seeing you there next year.
